In the language, there are two main registers, that is, different forms of the language for different situations. So far, I have posted the form of the standard language, which can be used in almost any situation. However, there is also a literary register, which uses a different verbal system in the past tense. It is inspired by the French 'passé simple', as the great authors in Iridia's literary past wanted to make this language one of the greatest literary languages of the micronational world, so developed complex verbal forms to do so.

The preterite initially forms a root describing its aspect: the perfective aspect is formed with the present indicative form of the second person singular; the habitual aspect is formed with the present indicative of the first person singular minus the final 'e', if there is one; the iterative aspect uses the infinitive; the progressive aspect takes the third person singular present tense; and the past anterior perfect takes the infinitive minus the 'un' or 'en' plus 'ac'.

The personal following conjugations will be in the order of first, second and third person singular, then first, second and third person plural.

As can be seen, these conjugations added to the root reveal person, number and mood.
